मुंबई के अगस्त क्रांति मैदान में मुख्य निर्वाचन आयुक्त (CEC) ज्ञानेश कुमार के खिलाफ आयोजित विरोध प्रदर्शन में हिस्सा लेने के बाद बॉलीवुड अभिनेता इमरान खान विवादों में घिर गए हैं। अमेरिकी नागरिकता धारक अभिनेता को मुंबई पुलिस के फॉरेनर्स रीजनल रजिस्ट्रेशन ऑफिस (FRRO) ने 28 अक्टूबर 2026 तक भारत छोड़ने का आदेश दिया है। इस प्रशासनिक आदेश के सामने आने के बाद देश की राजनीति और फिल्म उद्योग में तीखा विभाजन देखने को मिल रहा है।

अभिनेता इमरान खान अपनी साथी लेखा वाशिंगटन और बहन ज़ैन मैरी खान के साथ इस प्रदर्शन में शामिल हुए थे। प्रदर्शन के दौरान पुलिस ने इमरान खान को हिरासत में ले लिया था। इसके बाद फॉरेनर्स एक्ट और इमिग्रेशन एक्ट के प्रावधानों के तहत उन्हें 28 अक्टूबर तक देश छोड़ने का औपचारिक नोटिस थमा दिया गया।

Imran Khan also picked up a flag, and therefore, a person of this kind has no right to stay in India. Whether it is Imran, Yusuf, Iqbal, or Amir Ali, money comes from Pakistan, and major American companies also provide funding here. These people want to create instability in India by working together with what I would call ‘Dimagi Naxals.’ I welcome the decision taken by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. “इमरान खान एक अमेरिकी नागरिक हैं। किसी भी विदेशी नागरिक को भारत में अवैध राजनीतिक गतिविधियों या विरोध प्रदर्शनों में भाग लेने का अधिकार नहीं है। विदेशी फंड और विदेशी नागरिक भारत में अस्थिरता पैदा करने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं। केंद्रीय गृह मंत्रालय और महाराष्ट्र सरकार द्वारा लिया गया यह निर्णय कानून के दायरे में पूरी तरह सही है।”

समाजवादी पार्टी के प्रदेश अध्यक्ष अबू आजमी का रुख:

“इमरान खान का संबंध इस देश से है। भले ही उनके पास विदेशी नागरिकता हो, लेकिन उनका दिल और उनकी जड़ें भारत में ही हैं। सरकार अपनी नाकामियों और जनता के आक्रोश को छिपाने के लिए ऐसी सख्त और दमनकारी कार्रवाइयां कर रही है।”

एआईएमआईएम नेता वारिस पठान की प्रतिक्रिया:

“प्रदर्शन में कई लोग शामिल थे, लेकिन इमरान खान का सरनेम ‘खान’ होने के कारण उन्हें निशाना बनाया गया। संविधान हर व्यक्ति को शांतिपूर्ण असहमति का अधिकार देता है। क्या शांतिपूर्वक अपनी बात रखने वाले युवा आतंकवादी हैं? सरकार अपनी घबराहट में इस तरह के मनमाने फैसले ले रही है।”
